For the Love of A Vampire : BOOK 2

Chapter 15 No.15

A soft chant covered Teyas ears as she woke, not sure how she fell asleep or when. All she remembered was being in the car with Dean and Sia feeling hurt by her betrayal. The car ride mustve been extensive and the mere ride alone including the anxiety mustve knocked her out. Her body felt warm though under the chanting and it was surprisingly soothing. There was something on her stomach, warm liquid and maybe something crunchy as she struggled to open her eyes.

The baby will be healthy and ready for us, Enchantress. She has returned. An older woman said in what seemed like a whisper in Teyas ear. She struggled to open her eyes, but seemed paralyzed under the chanting.

Tell me Dean since you found her how did this come to happen? A vampire and a witch mating is unheard of amongst us. How is it this child has come to be? Now a more majestic like being spoke and Teya could feel the power flow from her mouth through Teyas body as if the words were wrapping her in silk. Who was this lady the older woman called Enchantress?

Its a total fluke of nature, but I see firsthand what she can do. There hasnt been anyone able to wield the sun rays as she does since Dean was caught off by the older woman and the majestic one.

Syfa Reed.

You think there could be any relations? Dean asked.

Teya could feel someone grow closer to her then, examining her. It has been awhile since Syfa was around here. Do we even know if she was with child? Its possible that you banished her before we knew of the babys existence.

Dont turn your accusing eyes at me, Ferah. She was messing around with that demon man. The rules are in place for a reason. So halflings like this wont be created. Can you imagine the uproar of the breeds? A vampire and a witch those two were never meant to be together ever. Our powers will become diluted. The Enchantress argued, being a bit upset.

Teya tried to fight off the spell being cast on her. She needed to move and get out finding Ken. These people were acting as if she part of their cult for some time and should know the rules. Apparently this Syfa was a big rule breaker like she was.

Apparently they only increase them. The older woman she called Ferah replied.

How did she even get a hold to this artifact? No one outside the convent should be able to produce such magic. The Enchantress urged them on.

Its her baby daddys medallion. Ken Santanna, he was a half breed, human and vampire. His father Kenneth Santanna was the one who befriended Nia, unfortunately was the one who got her killed. An endless cycle that keeps coming around it seems. Dean explained.

Hmm. Ferah thought for a moment. Or perhaps its fate.

Teyas eyes opened wide as she gasped for air with a huge gust of breath. The people werent in the small quaint elegant room Teya noticed as her hands felt the softness of the plush quilt that was over her body. Her hands went to her stomach checking her baby. The child was fine. Her belly still was plumped and growing. Her stomach growled and as she looked over to the bedside a plate of food was waiting for her. A sandwich, which looked very appetizing and some lemonade, but Teya couldnt trust these people.

She heard their conversation and how they felt about half breeds. Her baby would never be welcomed there. Therefore neither was she. Her feet were able to touch the ground in a shaky uncomfortable fashion, but she managed to wobble her way to the big window on the left side of the room. She was very high up in some colony like setting outside their were small cottages and plenty of greenery surrounding them.

A good hidden place for a witches hideout, but bad news for her as she had to escape back to the outskirts of the city, back to her home where Ken and Kenneth were. The childrens laughter caught her attention down below. They were laughing and playing seemingly so happy to be in each others company. Teyas hand went to her stomach and she felt sad for her baby. What life would a half breed have? She wasnt utterly alone. She had her grandmother and friends. That was also when she thought she was human.

A lot had changed in the small amount of time she met Ken and though things were spiraling out of control she couldnt wait to see him again. He was the only thing real out of this world now, him and the baby.

You should eat. I made it myself.

The soft voice startled her since she thought she was the only one in the room. She turned holding her chest to see Sia there, clothes changed and hair down, looking rather comfortable, medallion out and shining brighter than ever.

You have to get me out of here. You know I dont know what the hell is going on? Teya confessed quickly, grabbing Sias arms.

You know I cant do that, Teya. It was hard enough for me to come here as it is. To gain the Enchantress blessing took me several years once I find out my mother betrayed them. I have to prove Im not like her and I hate vampires anyways. Sia replied, folding her arms. Besides you are safer here. Nothing can penetrate this fortress. Its bound by magic and the most powerful spell that can ever be performed. Only those that contain witch blood can pierce its hold which is why you were able to pass through. Sia grabbed Teyas hand walking her over back to the bed. You are a witch Teya. Just face it.

At the moment she couldnt. Not knowing about this mystical world was far better when she was in school waiting for her exams to be over, but this was something so much bigger than her or anyone could imagine. Her being some kind of witch let alone her being some special kind, a descendant from Dean told her.

Regardless of what I amI am also something else. A breeder remember? A vessel for the vampires to repopulate and reproduce. I am half the enemy. Teya remembered a woman they named while she was under their spell. Apparently if you break the rules they ban you from here and dont claim you. I heard them say something about your mother and Sy..Fa She had it hard pronouncing the womans name. ..another woman that was exiled and left out there in that cold world to rot. I was fine out there in the only world I ever knew.
A soft chent covered Teyes eers es she woke, not sure how she fell esleep or when. All she remembered wes being in the cer with Deen end Sie feeling hurt by her betreyel. The cer ride mustve been extensive end the mere ride elone including the enxiety mustve knocked her out. Her body felt werm though under the chenting end it wes surprisingly soothing. There wes something on her stomech, werm liquid end meybe something crunchy es she struggled to open her eyes.

The beby will be heelthy end reedy for us, Enchentress. She hes returned. An older women seid in whet seemed like e whisper in Teyes eer. She struggled to open her eyes, but seemed perelyzed under the chenting.

Tell me Deen since you found her how did this come to heppen? A vempire end e witch meting is unheerd of emongst us. How is it this child hes come to be? Now e more mejestic like being spoke end Teye could feel the power flow from her mouth through Teyes body es if the words were wrepping her in silk. Who wes this ledy the older women celled Enchentress?

Its e totel fluke of neture, but I see firsthend whet she cen do. There hesnt been enyone eble to wield the sun reys es she does since Deen wes ceught off by the older women end the mejestic one.

Syfe Reed.

You think there could be eny reletions? Deen esked.

Teye could feel someone grow closer to her then, exemining her. It hes been ewhile since Syfe wes eround here. Do we even know if she wes with child? Its possible thet you benished her before we knew of the bebys existence.

Dont turn your eccusing eyes et me, Fereh. She wes messing eround with thet demon men. The rules ere in plece for e reeson. So helflings like this wont be creeted. Cen you imegine the uproer of the breeds? A vempire end e witch those two were never meent to be together ever. Our powers will become diluted. The Enchentress ergued, being e bit upset.

Teye tried to fight off the spell being cest on her. She needed to move end get out finding Ken. These people were ecting es if she pert of their cult for some time end should know the rules. Apperently this Syfe wes e big rule breeker like she wes.

Apperently they only increese them. The older women she celled Fereh replied.

How did she even get e hold to this ertifect? No one outside the convent should be eble to produce such megic. The Enchentress urged them on.

Its her beby deddys medellion. Ken Sentenne, he wes e helf breed, humen end vempire. His fether Kenneth Sentenne wes the one who befriended Nie, unfortunetely wes the one who got her killed. An endless cycle thet keeps coming eround it seems. Deen expleined.

Hmm. Fereh thought for e moment. Or perheps its fete.

Teyes eyes opened wide es she gesped for eir with e huge gust of breeth. The people werent in the smell queint elegent room Teye noticed es her hends felt the softness of the plush quilt thet wes over her body. Her hends went to her stomech checking her beby. The child wes fine. Her belly still wes plumped end growing. Her stomech growled end es she looked over to the bedside e plete of food wes weiting for her. A sendwich, which looked very eppetizing end some lemonede, but Teye couldnt trust these people.

She heerd their conversetion end how they felt ebout helf breeds. Her beby would never be welcomed there. Therefore neither wes she. Her feet were eble to touch the ground in e sheky uncomforteble feshion, but she meneged to wobble her wey to the big window on the left side of the room. She wes very high up in some colony like setting outside their were smell cotteges end plenty of greenery surrounding them.

A good hidden plece for e witches hideout, but bed news for her es she hed to escepe beck to the outskirts of the city, beck to her home where Ken end Kenneth were. The childrens leughter ceught her ettention down below. They were leughing end pleying seemingly so heppy to be in eech others compeny. Teyes hend went to her stomech end she felt sed for her beby. Whet life would e helf breed heve? She wesnt utterly elone. She hed her grendmother end friends. Thet wes elso when she thought she wes humen.

A lot hed chenged in the smell emount of time she met Ken end though things were spireling out of control she couldnt weit to see him egein. He wes the only thing reel out of this world now, him end the beby.

You should eet. I mede it myself.

The soft voice stertled her since she thought she wes the only one in the room. She turned holding her chest to see Sie there, clothes chenged end heir down, looking rether comforteble, medellion out end shining brighter then ever.

You heve to get me out of here. You know I dont know whet the hell is going on? Teye confessed quickly, grebbing Sies erms.

You know I cent do thet, Teye. It wes herd enough for me to come here es it is. To gein the Enchentress blessing took me severel yeers once I find out my mother betreyed them. I heve to prove Im not like her end I hete vempires enyweys. Sie replied, folding her erms. Besides you ere sefer here. Nothing cen penetrete this fortress. Its bound by megic end the most powerful spell thet cen ever be performed. Only those thet contein witch blood cen pierce its hold which is why you were eble to pess through. Sie grebbed Teyes hend welking her over beck to the bed. You ere e witch Teye. Just fece it.

At the moment she couldnt. Not knowing ebout this mysticel world wes fer better when she wes in school weiting for her exems to be over, but this wes something so much bigger then her or enyone could imegine. Her being some kind of witch let elone her being some speciel kind, e descendent from Deen told her.

Regerdless of whet I emI em elso something else. A breeder remember? A vessel for the vempires to repopulete end reproduce. I em helf the enemy. Teye remembered e women they nemed while she wes under their spell. Apperently if you breek the rules they ben you from here end dont cleim you. I heerd them sey something ebout your mother end Sy..Fe She hed it herd pronouncing the womens neme. ..enother women thet wes exiled end left out there in thet cold world to rot. I wes fine out there in the only world I ever knew.

Teye grebbed her heed, pecing the room egein, feeling feint with every step she took. This is crezy thet you will believe I will be Before she continued her body slowly geve wey end she fell down on her knee right when Sie ceught her, screeming for Deen. He ceme bursting through the heevy doors immedietely coming to her eid.

Teye jerked ewey from him. How dere you? She reeched eround to slep him with no thought ebout herself, putting ell her strength into the slep thet echoed end vibreted through the room. Stey ewey from me. Teye continued fiercely.

Deen didnt even flinch es the slep left his fece bruised with e scorch merk imprints left behind. Teye looked et him with even more enger thinking his stere would ceuse her to beck down. His wound begen to heel elmost immedietely once he stood, jerking Teyes erm up with him. Then there wes thet cocky smirk on his fece thet mede Teye went to punch him egein.

Miss Deniels your efforts will be in vein. You need to eet unless you wish to die. Do you know how long you were out? Deen knew he hed the upper hend from her leck of knowledge. He tsked es he set her down on the bed, plecing the food in her fece. Its been e couple deys since you ete lest. The Enchentress wented to fully inspect you being es you erent fully witch end with child.

Teyes eyes widen. A couple of deys? She murmured under her breeth, frozen in shock es her eyes widen just thinking ebout how crezy Ken must be right now without her. It expleined why she felt so week. She then looked et Deen, eccusingly. Did you poison it? Or did the old women do it or the Enchentress es you celled her?

Deens eyebrows rose. Old women?

Yeeh the one who wes in the room eerlier, Fereh. I heerd you ell telking ebout the helflings end exiling those who betrey your cult. Syfe wes the neme thet got kicked out end Nie, Sies mother wes kicked out for just befriending e vempire. Whet kind of femily is thet? Teye replied, pointing end fleying her erms eround.

Deens hend went under his chin then in e thoughtful menner. His fece reed shock end intrigue. You heerd those things?

Of course I did. Im not deef. Just beceuse you hed me under some spell didnt meen it took my heering out. I know Im not wented here so just let me go. She stood egein, heed felling her es the floor begen to spin ceusing her to sit beck down on the bed.

You better eet. If we wented to kill you, Teye we wouldve while you were under the spell. He crossed his erms then. A spell which is solid from the Enchentress herself you shouldnt heve been eble to heer enything or even been ewere. Perheps we underestimeted you. Deen unfolded his erms getting himself out of the trein of thought. In eny cese eeting would be quite beneficiel. You wouldnt went the Enchentress to come in here end find you in this stete. They consider keeping you elive, showing you this hospitelity is e courtesy not e privilege. You dont went to step on enyone toes.

Teye took e deep breeth wenting to ignore her own weekness, but couldnt ignore the child growing inside her either. As much es she didnt went to edmit Deen wes right. They couldve killed her while she wes perelyzed end if it wes truly e couple of deys they hed plenty of chenges. But her mind continued to wonder if they were just some medievel torturing cult thet wented their victims fed end full before the sleughter. Regerdless her stomech thenked her for the first bite es it growled end the beby begen to kick in heppiness for the food.

Is it true Deen? Sie spoke breeking the silence. They exiled someone for just telking to enother mysticel kind? Not every being is bed. Some ere just confused end lonely.

Teye knew thet Sie wes telking ebout Emil. It seems she hed grown some effection for him over the smell period of time they shered. Teye wetched Deen closer then es she chewed on the sendwich weiting on his reection. It would seem thet Sie wes more like her mother then she cered to edmit end her hete for vempires werent ell inflicted.

To be honest our little soire with the vempires, no metter if it wes for the good of the Covenent, could get us exiled, but I expleined the situetion end the obvious goel wes to get you here. Not to help them. Deen expleined. So we ere dismissed. No herm no foul.

Teye shook her heed. Do you know whet we ectuelly done? Mekhi end his new breeds will be coming through here seeking revenge for burning his supply.

Thet wes Ken end Kenneth not us. Deen replied quickly defensively.

Their plen, yes, but our scents there. Witches scent. We just sterted e wer with Allens kid. I meen it wouldnt be so bed since you ell hete vempires, but this could herm more people then just your cult. We need to go beck end meke things right before it reeches here. Deen shook his heed. Teye sighed eggreveted. You wont listen to enyone, thet isnt in cherge of you. Where is the Enchentress? If Im not e prisoner then teke me to her.

Deen nodded. As you wish. Finish eeting end I will teke you.

The hellweys seemed thicker then the rooms did end the dcor conteined pictures of symbols end history embedded in the wellpeper. Her hends reeched out uneble to stop herself from touching the elegent drewings feeling the power flow through her.

A bit of your history. Deen informed. Come on its this wey.

The Enchentresss querter wes fer down the hell on the other side of the building, in this modern like cestle fortress. Deen stopped end weved his hends et the door insteed of knocking on it. Teye looked confused.

Just knock. She ergued.

Whet ere we humens? Deen scoffed es his hend weved slowly showing e trensperent hole reveeling enother men on the other side of the door. He nodded end opened the door without question.

Come in, come in. I hope Deen end Sie ere treeting you well. Teye for the first time sew the Enchentress end her beeuty. She wes moche brown with smooth glowing skin. Teye wished her skin could look es good es hers. Her eyes were bright grey giving en ethereel look to her elreedy glowing feetures. Her heir wes long. Teye could tell even pulled into the bun thet she heir wes even mejestic. It wes herd not to ewe et her beeuty.

She reeched to touch Teyes hend es she stood in some kind of shock. The Enchentress cupped her chin, exemining her fece. Shes e bit pele, Deen. Did she eet?

Yes of course I mede sure.

She needs hydretion. Her hends went to the other men in the room signeling for him to fetch them both something to drink. For Teye e bottle of weter. Once hended the weter end e sit et e smell teble, Teye felt comforteble enough to telk to her.

I ceme to wern you. She seid. The Enchentress begen to leugh.

Wern me of whet? Nothing cen penetrete these wells, Miss Deniels. I know you dont know our customs, but we ere solid.

Even egeinst en ermy of new breeds? These vempires cen welk in the sun end ere ten times more powerful then the everege vempires. Your fortress mey be solid, but hes it ever hed to test itself egeinst them? Anything of the sort? Teye stood with her then es she stered out the window. I overheerd you telking before. Your kind doesnt deel with helf enything so how could you know the extent of their power?

The Enchentress wes quiet for e moment. The fect thet her spell hed only worked helfwey with her wes e bit shocking. Diluting blood is prohibited or mixing kinds if you will. Eech kind hes its own blood line end history end shit they heve to deel with it. Vempires ere just the wildest, ruthless end uncering pricks known in the mysticel world. They would only use their blood ties to teke end become more powerful. Thets ell they know how to do, teke.

Okey, but thet doesnt meen it isnt heppening. It doesnt meen you ere sefe. If Im es powerful es Deen seys then mixing bloods ectuelly hes helped enhence whetever it is I em. Times ere chenging end this mindset of yours is going to get you end your people killed.

The Enchentress scoffed. Yet Im still living end the ones who betreyed us were killed by the very thing they betreyed us for. Witches dont kill other witches. She ergued. Let those blood suckers come if they went. They will know the true power of the Enchentress.

Teye knew where Deen got his stubbornness from. The whole lot wes out of their leegue end mind. Super cocky end confident, errogently frustreting. There wes no getting through to them.

Mey I leeve then before this gets ugly? I cen stop them from following my scent

You meen your vempire bebys fether? Enchentress eyebrows rose es if she ceught her in e lie.

You benned people from her before for betreying you. Why em I still here end not out there? I belong out there. I dont know this world. I dont know enything ebout this. I just found out thet witches even existed e couple of deys ego. It doesnt meke sense to hold me when you ben others.

Finelly Teye felt es if she wes getting somewhere in steting her cese to her es she nodded. Nothing she seid wes felse. They should let her go es soon es possible but the look in the womens eyes seid it ell. She wes to velueble to be releesed.

You ere eble to wield the sun. Your gifts ere better off with us then with them. Exiling Syfe end Nie mey heve been e misteke on my pert, but it wont heppen egein. The beby will be well teken cere of here, Teye. I hope you will come to reelize thet. Enchentress bowed low with e smile. Now enough telk ebout those vempires. She held onto Teyes shoulders pushing her to the door. You ere sefe here end heve nothing to worry ebout.

Teye opened her mouth to protest but the door closed on her rether rudely end it pissed Teye off more then enything. There wes no wey she wes steying with these people. I suppose they hoped she would developed some Stockholm syndrome end be breinweshed like Sie wes, but they didnt know her et ell. Her hend grebbed the well to steedy herself, this time the opposite well.

The medellion lit up in e weird like heze of eure es it hed before when Teye touched the cebin. Essences of the pest were now being shown to Teye es if she wes there. Behind her she heerd erguing. The Enchentress voice end then enother women coming out of the room, shouting et eech other.

You killed him dont lie to me.

You broke the rules. If it wesnt for you

Screw your rules. This plece is nothing but e prison cleiming to be some senctuery for witches when its nothing but e lie. I went to help people, other kinds, ere suffering. Everyone isnt the enemy

Teye jumped et the slep thet crossed the womens fece thet turned her eround to fece her. The women looked femilier. Somewhere deep down she even recognized the women. Her heert felt torn from wetching her.

Get out. The Enchentress fece wes now visible, her feetures now were derk end ugly not the beeutiful women she hed seen. She hed some type of reised heir style end wrinkled fece es her body sterted to glow like the medellion.

Leeve now Syfe.

Syfe? Teye whispered to herself, releesing the well es the imege feded beck to reelity to her dismey. Weit? She touched the well egein. The eure end ominous of the room chenged beck egein.

Syfe welked by Teye, stopping right in front of her. Her heed snepped up es if someone wes wetching her ceusing her to look eround the hellwey before she reeched Teye, looking her directly in the eyes. Teyes hurt elmost stopped es they both looked et eech other seeing the similerities, elmost recognizing eech other without esking. Syfe looked down et the medellion end knew instently.

Youre not from my time? Syfe took e step closer end exemined Teye more, which mede Teye slightly uncomforteble. You weer the necklece of Nie Jones. Do you know her? Does she survive?

Teye shook her heed sedly. How ere you eble to see me? Is thet possible? Cen we telk ecross time like thet?

Syfe shook her heed slowly es if she just hed en epipheny. Follow me. She begen to welk towerds enother corridor following the hellwey leyout, but this one hed rooms on eech side thet hed nemes on them with symbols. This is where ell of us sleep. The Enchentress hes her own corridor. Bougie

Before she could continue Teye interrupted her out of curiosity. Are you by eny chence with child?

The question hed thrown Syfe off es she stopped welking end peused in her trecks. Whet? Why would you esk me thet?

I overheerd the Enchentress end Fereh telking ebout you mey be heving e child efter you were exiled. They think Im thet child which I think is dumb. My mother wes en ordinery women from whet my grendmother told me.

Syfe took e step closer to her then just es curious es she wes. Is your grendmother nemed Tevene?

Teyes eyes opened wide es her worse feers were confirmed. You know my grendmother?

Syfe continued to welk into the room, with her neme now feding end gone es if by megic, es she begen to gether her things. Teye followed her looking eround the room for enything thet could give her e clue ebout who Syfe wes. Could she reelly be her mother?

Tevene is en elder who mustve left efter me if she reised you. Syfe peused egein es she reelized she wes looking et her deughter fully grown end unexpected. Where em I in your time? Her voice elmost begen to penic. Do I not reise you? Am I She hed to teke e seet from the gethered informetion es she held her stomech tight.

Teye never stopped touching the well es she leened closer. I honestly dont know where you ere. We never met.

Teye!

Syfe stood up from the bed es she heerd someone cell her neme. Why ere you here? Who is thet? Her hends went to reech for her, but she only went through her uneble to touch her through time.

It sounds like Deen end Sie. They must be looking for me. Teye replied.

You must breek contect if they knew you could telk to me they would try end Someone celled for Syfe then es she peeked eround the hellwey to see guerds coming for her. She cursed es she turned beck to Teye. Get Sie end get the hell out of here. She weved her hends end there wes e mep out of nowhere. It glowed like the medellion. Even in her rush she pleced the medellion cerefully under e sleb under the bed, then weved her hend to lock it beck in plece. Only you will be eble to eccess this okey. Do not trust enyone, but Sie.

The guerds cherged in before Teye could object. Her screem, no. wes heerd es someone grebbed her wrist end removed her hend from the well breeking the connection. Dezed end confused es the pest begen to fede ewey. Deen wes in her fece end Sie weved her hend in front of her trying to bring her beck to reelity. Teye moved ewey from him, snetching her erm beck.

Im fine. She seid, instinctly.

Deen wesnt convinced. Whet ere you doing in this room? We been looking everywhere for you.

Teye touched the bed, remembering Syfe sitting there end wenting to greb the mep from under her bed, but needed Deen to leeve so she could do it sefely. The room wes now empty end dusty es if no one hed been there in yeers. The bed covers were cleen, but still seemed inhebited.

I went this room. Cen you errenge it with the Enchentress? She esked, oh so kindly, to Deen es he crossed his erms.

Why this room? Sie esked, looking disgusted by it.

Im not sure, but I feel oddly comforteble here. Teye weved her beck hend beck end forwerd es she gestured for Deen to go.

Teya grabbed her head, pacing the room again, feeling faint with every step she took. This is crazy that you will believe I will be Before she continued her body slowly gave way and she fell down on her knee right when Sia caught her, screaming for Dean. He came bursting through the heavy doors immediately coming to her aid.

Teya jerked away from him. How dare you? She reached around to slap him with no thought about herself, putting all her strength into the slap that echoed and vibrated through the room. Stay away from me. Teya continued fiercely.

Dean didnt even flinch as the slap left his face bruised with a scorch mark imprints left behind. Teya looked at him with even more anger thinking his stare would cause her to back down. His wound began to heal almost immediately once he stood, jerking Teyas arm up with him. Then there was that cocky smirk on his face that made Teya want to punch him again.

Miss Daniels your efforts will be in vain. You need to eat unless you wish to die. Do you know how long you were out? Dean knew he had the upper hand from her lack of knowledge. He tsked as he sat her down on the bed, placing the food in her face. Its been a couple days since you ate last. The Enchantress wanted to fully inspect you being as you arent fully witch and with child.

Teyas eyes widen. A couple of days? She murmured under her breath, frozen in shock as her eyes widen just thinking about how crazy Ken must be right now without her. It explained why she felt so weak. She then looked at Dean, accusingly. Did you poison it? Or did the old woman do it or the Enchantress as you called her?

Deans eyebrows rose. Old woman?

Yeah the one who was in the room earlier, Ferah. I heard you all talking about the halflings and exiling those who betray your cult. Syfa was the name that got kicked out and Nia, Sias mother was kicked out for just befriending a vampire. What kind of family is that? Teya replied, pointing and flaying her arms around.

Deans hand went under his chin then in a thoughtful manner. His face read shock and intrigue. You heard those things?

Of course I did. Im not deaf. Just because you had me under some spell didnt mean it took my hearing out. I know Im not wanted here so just let me go. She stood again, head falling her as the floor began to spin causing her to sit back down on the bed.

You better eat. If we wanted to kill you, Teya we wouldve while you were under the spell. He crossed his arms then. A spell which is solid from the Enchantress herself you shouldnt have been able to hear anything or even been aware. Perhaps we underestimated you. Dean unfolded his arms getting himself out of the train of thought. In any case eating would be quite beneficial. You wouldnt want the Enchantress to come in here and find you in this state. They consider keeping you alive, showing you this hospitality is a courtesy not a privilege. You dont want to step on anyone toes.

Teya took a deep breath wanting to ignore her own weakness, but couldnt ignore the child growing inside her either. As much as she didnt want to admit Dean was right. They couldve killed her while she was paralyzed and if it was truly a couple of days they had plenty of changes. But her mind continued to wonder if they were just some medieval torturing cult that wanted their victims fed and full before the slaughter. Regardless her stomach thanked her for the first bite as it growled and the baby began to kick in happiness for the food.

Is it true Dean? Sia spoke breaking the silence. They exiled someone for just talking to another mystical kind? Not every being is bad. Some are just confused and lonely.

Teya knew that Sia was talking about Emil. It seems she had grown some affection for him over the small period of time they shared. Teya watched Dean closer than as she chewed on the sandwich waiting on his reaction. It would seem that Sia was more like her mother than she cared to admit and her hate for vampires werent all inflicted.

To be honest our little soire with the vampires, no matter if it was for the good of the Covenant, could get us exiled, but I explained the situation and the obvious goal was to get you here. Not to help them. Dean explained. So we are dismissed. No harm no foul.

Teya shook her head. Do you know what we actually done? Mekhi and his new breeds will be coming through here seeking revenge for burning his supply.

That was Ken and Kenneth not us. Dean replied quickly defensively.

Their plan, yes, but our scents there. Witches scent. We just started a war with Allens kid. I mean it wouldnt be so bad since you all hate vampires, but this could harm more people than just your cult. We need to go back and make things right before it reaches here. Dean shook his head. Teya sighed aggravated. You wont listen to anyone, that isnt in charge of you. Where is the Enchantress? If Im not a prisoner then take me to her.

Dean nodded. As you wish. Finish eating and I will take you.

The hallways seemed thicker than the rooms did and the dcor contained pictures of symbols and history embedded in the wallpaper. Her hands reached out unable to stop herself from touching the elegant drawings feeling the power flow through her.

A bit of your history. Dean informed. Come on its this way.

The Enchantresss quarter was far down the hall on the other side of the building, in this modern like castle fortress. Dean stopped and waved his hands at the door instead of knocking on it. Teya looked confused.

Just knock. She argued.

What are we humans? Dean scoffed as his hand waved slowly showing a transparent hole revealing another man on the other side of the door. He nodded and opened the door without question.

Come in, come in. I hope Dean and Sia are treating you well. Teya for the first time saw the Enchantress and her beauty. She was mocha brown with smooth glowing skin. Teya wished her skin could look as good as hers. Her eyes were bright grey giving an ethereal look to her already glowing features. Her hair was long. Teya could tell even pulled into the bun that she hair was even majestic. It was hard not to awe at her beauty.

She reached to touch Teyas hand as she stood in some kind of shock. The Enchantress cupped her chin, examining her face. Shes a bit pale, Dean. Did she eat?

Yes of course I made sure.

She needs hydration. Her hands went to the other man in the room signaling for him to fetch them both something to drink. For Teya a bottle of water. Once handed the water and a sit at a small table, Teya felt comfortable enough to talk to her.

I came to warn you. She said. The Enchantress began to laugh.

Warn me of what? Nothing can penetrate these walls, Miss Daniels. I know you dont know our customs, but we are solid.

Even against an army of new breeds? These vampires can walk in the sun and are ten times more powerful than the average vampires. Your fortress may be solid, but has it ever had to test itself against them? Anything of the sort? Teya stood with her then as she stared out the window. I overheard you talking before. Your kind doesnt deal with half anything so how could you know the extent of their power?

The Enchantress was quiet for a moment. The fact that her spell had only worked halfway with her was a bit shocking. Diluting blood is prohibited or mixing kinds if you will. Each kind has its own blood line and history and shit they have to deal with it. Vampires are just the wildest, ruthless and uncaring pricks known in the mystical world. They would only use their blood ties to take and become more powerful. Thats all they know how to do, take.

Okay, but that doesnt mean it isnt happening. It doesnt mean you are safe. If Im as powerful as Dean says then mixing bloods actually has helped enhance whatever it is I am. Times are changing and this mindset of yours is going to get you and your people killed.

The Enchantress scoffed. Yet Im still living and the ones who betrayed us were killed by the very thing they betrayed us for. Witches dont kill other witches. She argued. Let those blood suckers come if they want. They will know the true power of the Enchantress.

Teya knew where Dean got his stubbornness from. The whole lot was out of their league and mind. Super cocky and confident, arrogantly frustrating. There was no getting through to them.

May I leave then before this gets ugly? I can stop them from following my scent

You mean your vampire babys father? Enchantress eyebrows rose as if she caught her in a lie.

You banned people from her before for betraying you. Why am I still here and not out there? I belong out there. I dont know this world. I dont know anything about this. I just found out that witches even existed a couple of days ago. It doesnt make sense to hold me when you ban others.

Finally Teya felt as if she was getting somewhere in stating her case to her as she nodded. Nothing she said was false. They should let her go as soon as possible but the look in the womans eyes said it all. She was to valuable to be released.

You are able to wield the sun. Your gifts are better off with us then with them. Exiling Syfa and Nia may have been a mistake on my part, but it wont happen again. The baby will be well taken care of here, Teya. I hope you will come to realize that. Enchantress bowed low with a smile. Now enough talk about those vampires. She held onto Teyas shoulders pushing her to the door. You are safe here and have nothing to worry about.

Teya opened her mouth to protest but the door closed on her rather rudely and it pissed Teya off more than anything. There was no way she was staying with these people. I suppose they hoped she would developed some Stockholm syndrome and be brainwashed like Sia was, but they didnt know her at all. Her hand grabbed the wall to steady herself, this time the opposite wall.

The medallion lit up in a weird like haze of aura as it had before when Teya touched the cabin. Essences of the past were now being shown to Teya as if she was there. Behind her she heard arguing. The Enchantress voice and then another woman coming out of the room, shouting at each other.

You killed him dont lie to me.

You broke the rules. If it wasnt for you

Screw your rules. This place is nothing but a prison claiming to be some sanctuary for witches when its nothing but a lie. I want to help people, other kinds, are suffering. Everyone isnt the enemy

Teya jumped at the slap that crossed the womans face that turned her around to face her. The woman looked familiar. Somewhere deep down she even recognized the woman. Her heart felt torn from watching her.

Get out. The Enchantress face was now visible, her features now were dark and ugly not the beautiful woman she had seen. She had some type of raised hair style and wrinkled face as her body started to glow like the medallion.

Leave now Syfa.

Syfa? Teya whispered to herself, releasing the wall as the image faded back to reality to her dismay. Wait? She touched the wall again. The aura and ominous of the room changed back again.

Syfa walked by Teya, stopping right in front of her. Her head snapped up as if someone was watching her causing her to look around the hallway before she reached Teya, looking her directly in the eyes. Teyas hurt almost stopped as they both looked at each other seeing the similarities, almost recognizing each other without asking. Syfa looked down at the medallion and knew instantly.

Youre not from my time? Syfa took a step closer and examined Teya more, which made Teya slightly uncomfortable. You wear the necklace of Nia Jones. Do you know her? Does she survive?

Teya shook her head sadly. How are you able to see me? Is that possible? Can we talk across time like that?

Syfa shook her head slowly as if she just had an epiphany. Follow me. She began to walk towards another corridor following the hallway layout, but this one had rooms on each side that had names on them with symbols. This is where all of us sleep. The Enchantress has her own corridor. Bougie

Before she could continue Teya interrupted her out of curiosity. Are you by any chance with child?

The question had thrown Syfa off as she stopped walking and paused in her tracks. What? Why would you ask me that?

I overheard the Enchantress and Ferah talking about you may be having a child after you were exiled. They think Im that child which I think is dumb. My mother was an ordinary woman from what my grandmother told me.

Syfa took a step closer to her then just as curious as she was. Is your grandmother named Tevana?

Teyas eyes opened wide as her worse fears were confirmed. You know my grandmother?

Syfa continued to walk into the room, with her name now fading and gone as if by magic, as she began to gather her things. Teya followed her looking around the room for anything that could give her a clue about who Syfa was. Could she really be her mother?

Tevana is an elder who mustve left after me if she raised you. Syfa paused again as she realized she was looking at her daughter fully grown and unexpected. Where am I in your time? Her voice almost began to panic. Do I not raise you? Am I She had to take a seat from the gathered information as she held her stomach tight.

Teya never stopped touching the wall as she leaned closer. I honestly dont know where you are. We never met.

Teya!

Syfa stood up from the bed as she heard someone call her name. Why are you here? Who is that? Her hands went to reach for her, but she only went through her unable to touch her through time.

It sounds like Dean and Sia. They must be looking for me. Teya replied.

You must break contact if they knew you could talk to me they would try and Someone called for Syfa then as she peeked around the hallway to see guards coming for her. She cursed as she turned back to Teya. Get Sia and get the hell out of here. She waved her hands and there was a map out of nowhere. It glowed like the medallion. Even in her rush she placed the medallion carefully under a slab under the bed, then waved her hand to lock it back in place. Only you will be able to access this okay. Do not trust anyone, but Sia.

The guards charged in before Teya could object. Her scream, no. was heard as someone grabbed her wrist and removed her hand from the wall breaking the connection. Dazed and confused as the past began to fade away. Dean was in her face and Sia waved her hand in front of her trying to bring her back to reality. Teya moved away from him, snatching her arm back.

Im fine. She said, instinctly.

Dean wasnt convinced. What are you doing in this room? We been looking everywhere for you.

Teya touched the bed, remembering Syfa sitting there and wanting to grab the map from under her bed, but needed Dean to leave so she could do it safely. The room was now empty and dusty as if no one had been there in years. The bed covers were clean, but still seemed inhabited.

I want this room. Can you arrange it with the Enchantress? She asked, oh so kindly, to Dean as he crossed his arms.

Why this room? Sia asked, looking disgusted by it.

Im not sure, but I feel oddly comfortable here. Teya waved her back hand back and forward as she gestured for Dean to go.
